What We Do



What We Do
Our Priorities

      1.  The COMPACT developed by the partnership in 2003
     identified 12 strategic
areas for action. Action plans
     for each of these strategic areas were agreed

     and are outlined in the Strategic Directions document.
     The family is central
to all of the strategies.

2.   In 2007, the Community’s partnership with Government
 identified the following as key priorities:

    a. Governance

            ·    Service mapping

            ·    Evaluation framework

  b. Cultural Enhancement

                      ·    Community Art Gallery

            ·    Cultural Literacy Unit

            ·    Media strategy

            ·    Youth engagement

    c.Education

            ·    Early Years

            ·    Schools Years

            ·    Post-school options


    d. Employment 

Priorities of the
SPPU

The local Aboriginal leadership identified the first two of these as central to achieving the vision.
The SPPU was tasked to concentrate their efforts on these ie.

a. Governance

b. Cultural Enhancement

Community engagement is central to achieving these priorities, which is why the
Community Engagement Team was established.

A range of surveys have been undertaken as part of our engagement strategy.
